Job Description:
SUNYIT has more than 2,900 students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate degree programs and plans to grow to 5,000 students over the next decade. The campus comprises a high-tech learning environment on hundreds of acres in Marcy, NY, with $100 million in improvements planned or under construction, including four new buildings including a state-of-the-art Advanced Technology Center. A $225 million nanotechnology partnership between SUNYIT and CNSE (College of Nanoscale Engineering at the University at Albany), funded by the State of New York, IBM, SEMATECH and Intel, was announced in July. SUNYIT students come from all over New York, many other states and more than 20 other nations.
The Associate Provost will design the new organization through collaborative planning, establish priorities, develop policies, and provide resources to carry out its instructional and information goals. Additionally, the Associate Provost will establish service and resource goals for existing units to include Information Technology Services, Library, Instructional Resources, Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, Instructional Design, Distance Learning, Learning Center, and Voice Communications. Further, the Associate Provost shall develop and grow an effective and efficient organization from formerly independent departments and units.
Requirements:
Five years' leadership experience in a collaborative IT, library or learning service organization required. Master's degree in a relevant field required; doctorate preferred. Experience in higher education preferred, particularly in a merged information technology and library environment.
